USADSS is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that was formed to benefit swimmers with Down syndrome in their pursuit of competitive swimming, and to develop and support their participation in local, national and international competition throughout their athletic careers.

Michigan Meet Up Lights Up Athletes

USADSS has had 2 National Training Camps, and recently had its very first regional swim clinic. This weekend was packed full, and was very successful. First, we attended the Milford Mildown Masters Meet. Then we got to play Whirlyball for a team building activity. After that, we had a presentation on Resistance Training for Athletes With Down Syndrome. The presenters were amazing and they provided awesome tips on weight lifting and nutrition. Thank you Dr. Merrick Lincoln, Dr. Christle Guevarra, Dr. Rachel Darr, and personal trainer, Sean Leahy. The next day, we had a 4 hour swim clinic at South Lyon East High School in Michigan. We targeted Pacing, Starts, and Turns with great success. Please check out our website to learn more at www.usadss.org, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram @USADownSyndromeSwimming.

USADSS IS GROWING!

We just welcomed our 115th swimmer! We love celebrating our T21 Swim Warriors. They are making waves in their communities in and out of the pool. Check us out on social media to see how our athletes are thriving when included.
